July 15, 2011 (Reno, NV) – Today, Rod Hall Racing will roll the race proven HUMMER H3 through contingency at the inaugural Master Pull USA 500 at John Ascuaga’s Nugget in Sparks, Nevada. The wining truck is entered in VORRA’s Full Metal class. Saturday morning, the first vehicle will leave the starting line at 8:29 am and each vehicle will be given twenty-one hours to complete the course.
Hall has proactively assisted Valley Off-Road Racing Association to launch the greatly anticipated race. “I applaud Wes Harbor and VORRA in their efforts to build a new, premier off-road race in northern Nevada. Given the difficulty race promoters face, this event is welcomed by our sport to keep off-road racing alive and thriving in the U.S.,” exclaimed Baja legend Rod Hall.
The course has been described as a smooth and fast loop race, with varied technical sections for a total of 529 miles. Race director Wes Harbor designed the course to require fewer chase crews and spectator viewing areas where the racecourse can be viewed safely.
The event also includes freestyle moto demos, live music, rock crawl demos and other entertainment on Victorian Square. On Sunday, VORRA will host the USA 200 motorcycle race.
